Rafting in the Morvan Natural Park

The Morvan regional nature park, located in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region, is an ideal place for lovers of outdoor adventure sports. Among the activities on offer, rafting is one of the most popular. For the uninitiated, rafting involves descending a whitewater river in an inflatable raft, guided by an experienced professional.

Rafting Morvan

In Morvan, the most popular river for rafting is the Cure. This winding, fast-flowing river offers a 12 km course, with rapids ranging from class II to class IV, suitable for both beginners and the more experienced. The starting point is in Saint-Martin-du-Puy, and the course ends in Anost.

To go rafting in the Morvan, it's advisable to book in advance with a company specializing in outdoor adventure sports. There are several companies in the region offering rafting trips, such as Morvan Aventure, Rafting Morvan and Cure Rafting. Prices vary according to the length of the outing and the number of participants, but in general you should expect to pay around 30-50 euros per person for a half-day trip.

When you book, you'll receive instructions on what to wear and what to bring. In general, we recommend that you wear comfortable, water-resistant sportswear and closed shoes that can get wet. Companies usually supply neoprene wetsuits, helmets and life jackets.

On the day of your rafting trip, you'll meet your guide and the other participants at the meeting point. After a briefing on safety instructions and navigation techniques, you'll suit up and board your raft.

Rafting down the Cure is an exhilarating and memorable experience. You'll navigate through tumultuous rapids, narrow passages and calm, peaceful waters. You'll also have the chance to admire the natural beauty of the Morvan, with its verdant forests, rolling hills and picturesque landscapes.
